A commercial open frame switcher known as the ePower 300 delivers 300 W from four outputs while measuring only 6.8 by 3.8 by 1.2 in. It also features a 10-W/in.3 power density. Typically, it has an 82% efficiency that can jump to 85% at 220 V ac input. The device includes input power-factor correction (PFC), which provides a 90- to 250-V AC universal input. It also features EMI line filtering. The first prototype is expected sometime during the first quarter of this year in a quad-output, +3-, +5-, and ±12-V model. Pricing is tentatively set at $289 each per 100 units.
