An enhanced series of reed relays from MEDER electronic Inc. will find its way into a host of high-voltage applications thanks to ultra-miniature through-hole packaging combined with up to 1-kV dc switching voltage capability and up to 5-kV dc breakdown voltage. Insulation resistance is greater than 10 TΩ, with insulation voltage between the coil and contact of up to 7 kV dc. The LI series features a new baseplate that provides a stable relay structure, and boosts the electrical isolation between pins. The baseplate also prevents resin from wicking up the connection pins, improving pin solderability. A fully automated dispensing process for resin filling ensures consistent, high-quality, and uniform fill. Applications include cable and in-circuit test equipment and electric vehicles.
