For rugged rigors, the 1550Z family of thick wall, die-cast sealed enclosures carry IP66, NEMA 1, 4, 4X, 12, and 13 ratings. The family includes 18 industry-standard sizes ranging from 1.98” x 1.78” x 1.19” to 8.76” x 5.77” x 3.25” and come in either natural with a smooth vibra-finish or in a tough black polyester powder coated finish. Environmental sealing is achieved through a combination of a tongue and groove construction and a pre-formed one-piece silicone rubber gasket. To ensure the integrity of the seal, the fixing screws are outside the gasket area. Depending on the size, the lid is secured with two, four, or six stainless steel machine screws going into factory-tapped holes. HAMMOND MANUFACTURING CO. INC., Cheektowaga, NY. (716) 630-7030.
