Claiming to shrink acceleration sensor footprint by 50%, the LIS2DH and LIS2DM three-axis accelerometers in 2 mm x 2 mm packages reduce size by a factor of two over current-generation devices. Both provide accurate, high-resolution outputs across full-scale ranges of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g and exhibit reliable stability over time and temperature. They integrate embedded features including 4D/6D orientation detection and two programmable interrupt signals that enable immediate notification of motion detection, free fall, and other conditions. Additionally, the devices are software-compatible with the company’s current three-axis accelerometers for easy hot-swap upgrades. Prices for the LIS2DH and LIS2DM are $1.05 and $0.98 each/1,000, respectively. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (888) 787-3550.
