The MHP series TO-247 power resistors, housed in stable transistor-style packages with an alumina-ceramic layer that separates the resistance element and mounting tab, are available in 100W and 140W ratings. As a result of their packaging, the resistors feature a very low inductance, making them ideal for high-frequency and high-speed pulse applications. Applications for the resistors include automation test equipment, high-frequency snubber and pulse-handling circuits, motor control and drive circuits and switchmode power supplies. Specs include resistance values from 0.01Ω to 220Ω, inductance values of less than 50 nH, a voltage rating of 700V, absolute tolerances to ±1% and ±5, absolute TCRs to ±100 ppm/°C, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to + 85°C. Pricing for the MHP Series is $4.58 each/1,000. IRC INC., Corpus Christi, TX. (361) 992-7900.
