Tiny Mid-Voltage MOSFETs Rev Up Switching Speed

Feb. 11, 2014
According to Fairchild Semiconductor, its 150-V FDMC86261P and 100-V FDMC86139P P-channel PowerTrench MOSFETs boost switching performance figure of merit (FOM) by 67% over the top competitor.

According to Fairchild Semiconductor, its 150-V FDMC86261P and 100-V FDMC86139P P-channel PowerTrench MOSFETs boost switching performance figure of merit (FOM) by 67% over the top competitor. Furthermore, conduction and switching losses improved by 46% and 38%, respectively. The devices come in a 3- by 3-mm MLP package instead of the typical 5- by 6-mm package. Their low RDS(ON), mid-voltage, P-channel silicon technology is optimized for low gate charge. The UIL-tested, RoHS-compliant MOSFETs suit both fast switching applications as well as load-switch applications.
