Expanding the SeaLINK USB-to-serial product line, the SeaLINK+8/232.RJ and the SeaLINK+8.VC provide eight independent serial ports that appear as standard COM ports to the host computer, enabling compatibility with legacy software, and deliver data rates up to 921.6 Kb/s. The SeaLINK+8.VC employs the company's VersaCom connector design that allows RS-232/485 selectivity through cabling. Users choose the appropriate pin-out for RS-232 or 2-wire RS-485 on each individual port without having to open the enclosure to set jumpers or switches. Both adapters derive operating power from the USB and, for powering peripherals, options allow connecting an external power source via a jack on the rear of each unit. Additionally, both adapters come with the SeaCOM suite of Windows drivers and WinSSD test/diagnostic software. Prices start at $359 for the RS-232 SeaLINK+8/232.RJ.
