Mentor Graphics’ Mentor Embedded software—Embedded Linux Lite and Sourcery CodeBench Lite—supports the new second-generation AMD Embedded R-Series APU (previously called “Bald Eagle”). By downloading the software, embedded developers can immediately begin evaluation, prototyping, and development. Those who require support, commercial business terms, enhanced development experience, or customization services can migrate to commercial versions of the Mentor Embedded Linux and/or Sourcery CodeBench professional tools. Embedded Linux Lite is a free, unsupported derivation from Mentor Embedded Linux that’s preconfigured for certain AMD embedded targets, including pre-built binary images, a Linux kernel and board-support package, Yocto Project-based build system, and select user space packages. Sourcery CodeBench Lite is a free, command-line-based development tool chain for embedded C/C++ that includes GNU C and C++ compilers, GNU assembler and linker, GNU debugger, and C/C++ runtime libraries. Software can be downloaded at http://www.mentor.com/embedded-software/partners/amd.
