In a 36-bump micro SMD package, the LM4930 analog audio subsystem targets a wide range of portable products with it's high level of integration. The single chip contains a stereo I2S d/a converter, voice-band codec, stereo headphone amplifier, mono speaker amplifier, microphone pre-amplifier, and a side-tone generator, all of which are controlled via I2C. The I2C control allows users to select from a variety of operating modes that determine which amplifiers are used, volume control for each amplifier, and other performance options.
