Precision mixed-signal microcontrollers (MCUs) that integrate a 25MIPS 8051 MCU with dual 16bit, 1mega sample/s ADCs have been launched by Silicon Laboratories.

The MCUs are suited to applications that need high-speed data acquisition, high accuracy, low noise and low power consumption.

An evaluation kit is available to customers that allows immediate evaluation of the analogue performance of on-chip ADCs and evaluation of the software development tools.

The MCUs also have low-power dual 16bit ADCs. They consume 20 mW per ADC.

On-chip peripherals include two UARTs, SMBus and SPI bus serial ports, as well as a two per cent accuracy precision internal oscillator that eliminates the need for an external crystal or resonator.
