Macraigor Systems LLC has added debugging and control support for several new processors: the ARM Cortex-M3 family of CPUs, the Freescale MPC 83xx PowerQUICC II Pro family, the AMD Geode GX/LX processors, and the Marvell PXA3xx family. The devices can be debugged alone or in conjunction with numerous supported flash memory parts by any of the company’s debug software solutions used with the OCDemon family of products.

Macraigor Systems also offers a complete Eclipse tool suite bundled with GNU tools and pre-built with example projects at no cost at www.macraigor.com. Additional software debugging solutions for programming and debugging hardware designs and application software are available as well.

The OCD Commander offers an easy-to-use debugger with GUI access for manipulation of the CPU (run, halt, reset) and its associated registers and memories. The JTAG Commander is a GUI-based application for low-level control of a JTAG-enabled target. JSCAN is a GUI application for debug of target hardware via JTAG, enabling developers to test for opens, shorts, and other problems under BGA devices and elsewhere, as well as for programming FPGAs and EEPROMS for gate arrays.

OCD Remote is for debugging with Eclipse/GNU tools GDB. OCD Remote and the OCD Commander are available for debugging on both Windows and Linux platforms. The OCDemon Flash Programmer includes a GUI application for performing a variety of programming and debugging functions on flash parts. The GUI interface provides high-level interaction for debugging and programming the contents of flash connected to the target CPU.

The OCDemon debug tools are immediately available. The OCDemon Flash Programmer, Flash Access, and Target Access each cost $500 for the first license and $100 each for incremental licenses. JSCAN is $1895, and JTAG Commander is $395. The OCD Commander (an assembly-level software debugger), OCD Remote, and Eclipse and GNU tool suites are available at no charge from the Macraigor Web site.
