New Direct RF Technologies Boost Defense Systems

Mercury Systems' Rodger Hosking presents the Direct RF FPGA approach for digitizing wideband RF analog signals (watch video above). It eliminates complex and costly analog RF tuners and upconverters, replacing them with Direct RF ADCs and DACs that can digitize K-band RF signals at 64 Gsamples/s. It's also capable of capturing signal bandwidths up to 30 GHz.

VITA-57.4: Cost-Effective Technologies to Broaden FPGA Use

Techway's Romanne Sailleau talks about cost-effective ways to extend FPGA technology using FMCs on PCIe boards in military and aerospace applications. She takes a look at the VITA 57 FMC standard that engineers can use to adapt FPGAs to their I/O needs (watch video above)
