Launching as the industry's first fixed PMOS 1A low dropout regulator for low-noise designs, the IRU1502-33 exhibits a dropout voltage of less than 0.6V at full load current. The device comes in a 6-pin MLPM package measuring 3 mm x 3 mm x 1 mm with a thermal coefficient of 42°C/W. According to the company, it features ultra low noise, a fast start-up, and a line/load transient response figure of 1 A/µs. Other features include an internal voltage reference with a ±2% tolerance over load and line, an operating temperature range from 0°C to 120°C, ground current of 650 µA over the full load range, and output protection with both current limit and thermal shutdown. Typical applications include hard-disk drives, CD-ROMs, DVD drives and noise sensitive RF, audio and DSP circuitry. Pricing is $0.37 each/10,000.
