The DS1372 real-time clock (RTC) integrates a binary counter and unique 64-bit serial number for digital data applications that require digital rights management (DRM). The binary counter allows easy conversion to time-of-day and elapsed-time measurements. Additionally, the 64-bit serial number is factory-lasered into the device to eliminate the need for costly user programming and to prevent tampering with the serial number. Power consumption is 450 nA (typical) at 3V. Available in a RoHS-compliant, 8-pin microSOP package, pricing starts at $0.93 each/1,000+. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800
