Designers of VSAT terminals, point-to-point and multi-point radios, VCDROs, and other PLL applications will get a leg up with the UPB1514TU SiGe divide-by-eight prescaler. The device supports input frequencies from 8 GHz to 16 GHz and delivers a typical output power of –5 dBm at 1 GHz to 2 GHz. Exploiting the company’s 50-GHz UHS2 silicon bipolar process, the prescaler operates on a supply-voltage range from 4.5V to 5.5V and consumes 50 mA at 5V. Offered in a 2.2 mm x 2 mm x 0.5 mm TU package, price is $2.71 each/10,0000. NEC ELECTRONICS AMERICA INC., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 366-9782.
