Four additions to the PIC family of microcontrollers include the PIC18F4680, PIC18F2680, PIC18F4585, and PIC18F2585 that feature 48 KB or 64 KB of enhanced flash program memory. In addition to flash memory, the devices integrate the company's ECAN module and nanoWatt power-management technology into a small form factor that is pin-out and package compatible with 16 KB to 64 KB MCUs. Shared features include a 32 kHz to 32 MHz (8 MIPS) oscillator, fail-safe clock monitor, 3 KB of RAM and 1 KB of EEPROM, and an 11-channel, 10-bit a/d converter delivering up to 100 ksamples/s. Operating voltage range is from 2V to 5.5V and operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C. The PIC18F2680 and PIC18F2585 are available in 28-pin SDIP and SOIC packages, while the PIC18F4680 and PIC18F4585 come in a 40-pin PDIP and a 44-pin TQFP or QFN.
