A high-speed DSP-based vision processor for the PCI bus, CMC-C80 combines general-purpose DSPs and special-purpose vision engines. The board can execute any imaging function, regardless of its complexity, in 6.25 ms. It is based on several high-performance elements, including the C80 DSP, pipeline processing, dual frame buffers, and high-speed look up tables. The board also provides 16K x 16K no-wait-state dual-ported RAM for high speed interfacing to the host system, as well as a separate 2 MB program memory that supports the C80's data access rates up to 400 MB/s. A built-in area-of-interest generator allows generation of output images with arbitrary X-Y dimensions of 8K x 8K.
