Using a three-metal plating process on a high-temperature polycarbonate substrate, Spectra Shield is said to offer a higher level RF barrier than conventional metal shields. The solid-cover design has no bare edges, which eliminates corrosion found with pre-coated metal shields. Material offers a higher level RF barrier than fence types with no gaps or openings. The barriers create zero stress on boards to eliminate high insertion force needed with fence types. Installation is permanent or removable, soldered directly to boards or used with spring clips. Sizes are 1/2" x 1/2" to 6" x 6", and material is compatible with pick-and-place machines.
