SBE split its announcements between storage and voice. SBE started with its 6U HW400c/2 CompactPCI board (see Fig. 1). It runs the PyX iSCSI software stack. A PMC card provides support for 8 SAS/SATA drives, typically used in a RAID configuration. The board has a 1-GHz Freescale MPC7447A PowerPC processor with up to 1 Gbyte of DDR SDRAM running Linux. A second PMC site is available for expansion. A front-panel Gbit Ethernet port provides service access. It is typically used to handle an additional 8 SAS/SATA ports. The board is also available without the software or PMC SAS/SATA controller card (see Fig. 2).
Other possible PMCs for the HW400c/2 include the dspPTMC-6415 VoIP Gateway Engine PMC (see Fig. 3) that works with Telogy’s voice-over-IP (VoIP) software. The software supports a dozen Texas Instrument’s (TI) C6415 DSPs to handle 2304 premium grade VoIP channels. A Wintegra WinPath processor provides packet aggregation, processing, and routing. The DSP provides echo cancellation and compression.
Need more DSP support? Check out the dspPTMC-6415 (see Fig. 4). This PMC holds 8 TI TMS320C6415 DSPs. The board has a 2560 time-slot TDM (CT Bus) interface plus OEM configuration options for the module that provide RMII, 4096 timeslot TDM, and/or Gigabit Ethernet I/O in conformance with PTMC Configurations 2, 3, or 5 (PT2MC, PT3MC or PT5MC).
Both DSP PMC boards are also supported by TI’s Code Composer Studio and the Chip Support Library (CSL) for DSP peripherals. The DSPs use TI’s DSP/BIOS.
