Armed with four 1.4-GHz MPC7448 or 1.1-GHz MPC7447A processors from Freescale Semiconductor, the NEXUS Quattro 6U VME board is ready for radar, sonar, and image-processing applications in harsh or friendly environments. The board's asymmetric multiprocessing architecture allows the processors to operate as independent computing nodes. It can function as a single multiprocessor or in multiple board combinations to address complex array processing requirements. The board supports 256 MB or 512 MB of DDR266 SDRAM with ECC per CPU for a total of 2 GB per board. Other features include two IEEE P1386 PMC sites with up to 1,064-MB/s peak PCI performance, Gigabit Ethernet support, peer-level VME access for all processors, and VME320 2eSST support via a Tundra TSI148 PCI-X-to-VME bridge for up to 320-MB/s VME performance and compatibility with legacy designs.
