Continuous FFT processing, communications receiver signal collection to disk, and simultaneous graphics display of spectral data are among the functions that the PC-430M high-speed coprocessor board is said to excel at. To help it accomplish these tasks, the card uses four simultaneous A/D sampling channels and a floating point DSP. The board digitizes the signals from the four analog input channels and then stores them in local memory, with DSP math processing and data transfer performed concurrently. The card also has a timer-counter that uses an on-board crystal oscillator or an external timebase to provide precision phase tracking, while up to 4M of on-board high-speed memory is used to store data and programs. With all A/Ds sampling in parallel, the conversion rate is 200 KHz/channel max.
