With its greater than 1.25-MSPS data acquisition rate requiring an extremely low level of software support, LPTAD8FIFO card contains an on-board high-speed FIFO RAM chip up to 64K deep. All that is required for immediate data acquisition is the addition of a clock signal to determine the sample rate. The FIFO automatically collects data from the MAX153 A/D converter chip that has a conversion time of 660 ns. The collection continues until the FIFO full flag asserts itself. The FIFO can be read on-the-fly by the host system while A/D conversion continues.
