RJ-45 Jack Helps Make Short Work Of Terminations

June 1, 1999

A "load and lace" wire management system that facilitates quick cable terminations is featured in the CableJack, a cable-ready, eight-contact, eight-position RJ-45 jack for Category 5E and beyond premises wiring applications. The jack is said to provide simple, reliable terminations to improve productivity and reduce installation costs. The firm's Crosswire technology is brought to bear to control noise without need for costly multilayer pc-board compensation. Built-in strain relief improves connection resiliency and signal reliability. Selectively plated IDC contacts perform one-step termination without special tools. Jacks accommodate 24 and 26 AWG wire sizes.
