With an open-frame design, the self-leaded, surface-mount DR338 Series inductors are said to be both space and cost efficient for dc/dc converter and switching power supply applications. The devices offer high dc current handling capabilities for superior dc/dc power supply filtering. With an inductance range from 10 to 470 µH and a rated current from 3.6A to 0.53A, the device is suited for use in laptops, PCs, telecommunications and instrumentation. Compact packaging makes the series useful where conserving board space is critical. The inductor measures just 0.22" x 0.50" x 0.40". Compatible with convection and other SMT assembly soldering processes, it operates in a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. Pricing is $0.60 each/10,000.
