Doubling the number of coherent channels in beam-forming applications, the Echotek series ECV4-4 claims title as the first COTS digital receiver supporting seven Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGAs. Four of the devices function as channelizers while two FPGAs operate as cross-channel processors. The seventh is dedicated to board control. The ECV4-4 series comes in 6U VME and 6U VXS form factors with options for digital receivers and transceivers covering multiple frequency bands. Dedicated I/O allows two boards to combine data for simultaneous and coherent access to eight individual inputs. The ECV4-4 is available as a standalone module or as part of the PowerStream series fabric-enabled computers that support DSP, FPGA, and I/O functionality in CompactPCI, VME, VXS, VPX-REDI, and other form factors.
