Bringing light from back to front, the vertical rectangular light pipe (VLPR) series feature a rectangular lens structure for flush or side-view insertion. The pipes mount vertically via crush pins to a surface-mount circuit board. They are available in heights of 12.7 mm and 16.25 mm, as well as custom sizes. Fabricated with flame-retardant 94V-0-compliant, clear polycarbonate, the light pipes also provide ESD protection by isolating the pipes from the pc board. The devices also have a clear lens appearance and are mountable on 1.6 mm x 4.7 mm centers. Price is $0.20 each in production quantities. BIVAR INC., Irvine, CA. (800) 772-2377.
