Adapter Integrates IDE Disk Drives Into PC/104 Stack

June 1, 2000

The DA104 IDE disk adapter is a carrier board that is claimed to provide a convenient means of integrating IDE hard drives on to a PC/104 stack. The board supports 2.5" IDE hard drives and M-Systems CompactFLASH and IDE2000 flash-disk memory.
The adapter can communicate with the CPU via the PC/104 bus or the standard 40-pin ribbon cable. Power can be delivered via the PC/104 headers or the two-position screw terminal.
For additional disk space, a second 2.5" hard-disk drive can be mounted to the underside of the module. However, this configuration will exceed the PC/104 height specification. The DA104 costs $99 and the underside drive interface is $30.
