Promising speedy installation, the Simple Step 17 motion control system integrates a size 17, 1.8° stepping motor, driver and a controller. The fully programmable system provides trajectory motion, two digital I/O channels, two fixed I/O channels, preset motor-winding current levels, and safety stop commands. Via an on-board RS-232 or RS-485 interface, motion commands can originate from any serial terminal program. The system is also available with Cavro DT and OEM medical communications protocols, which allows up to 15 motors to be daisy chained. Other features of the size 17 stepping motor include torque ratings ranging from 30 to 80 oz.-in. when operating in bi-polar drive mode and micro-stepping capabilities of 400, 800 and 1,600 steps/rev.
