The Poly-LED multi-chip LEDs are claimed to be lower in cost than the single-LED clusters they replace. They incorporate discrete LEDs in an integrated package that emulates chips-on-board dot-matrix displays. Available in many styles, the round packages measure up to 32.5 mm across with up to 24 domed-lens LED chips. The square packages measure up to 62-mm square with up to 14 domed-lens LED chips. Color options include red, green, and yellow, with GaN/sapphire blue and white under development. Bi-color options are available. A 16.2-mm round package with seven super-red LEDs costs $2.60 each in quantity.
