The KAI-1020 image sensor integrates most of the discrete components required to build a digital camera system. This one-million pixel interline CCD imager includes an on-chip shutter driver, vertical clock driver, and a correlated double sampling unit on the same die as the CCD. Other features of the CCD include color and monochrome versions, a 10-bit dynamic range at room temperature, a frame speed of 30 fps using one output and 48 fps using two outputs, and anti-blooming protection. Samples and evaluation boards are available, with pricing for the monochrome version starting at about $400 each/5,000.
