Constructed of heavy-duty steel with an aluminum front panel, the AS-114R can withstand heavy shock, dust, humidity, vibration and extreme operating temperatures. The system is built upon a 14-slot passive backplane operating from a 250W power supply. This backplane supports a single-board computer (SBC) with a 233 MHz Pentium processor and 32 MB of RAM. Other features include a 6.4 GB hard-disk drive, 48X CD-ROM drive, and a floppy-disk drive. In addition, the system comes with either Windows 98 or NT 4.0 preinstalled at the factory.
