Suited for extending PC connectivity, industrial PC applications, and embedded controller designs, the MCS7710, MCS7717 and MCS7720 USB 1.1 controllers contain all the necessary logic to communicate with the host computer using the USB bus in bulk-type data mode. The MCS7710 is a single-channel serial port with a USB 1.1 interface and provides standard 16C450/550 compatible UART functionality. Available in a 48-pin QFP, targeted applications include portable back-up units, modems, and monitoring equipment. The MCS7717 is a three-port hub controller with a serial and parallel port interface. Offered in a 64-pin QFP, it supports the Centronics printer interface, as well as EPP and ECP modes. The MCS7720 is dual-channel controller in a 48-pin QFP. It includes an additional USB 1.1 interface and provides two standard 16C550 compatible UARTs. Prices for the MCS7710, MCS7717 and MCS7720 are $4.45, $7.43, and $5.20, respectively, each/10,000. Samples and evaluation boards are available now and production lead time is six to eight weeks ARO.
