Floppy-Disk-Sized SBC Makes Grade In Kiosks

Applications in kiosks, gaming systems, point-of-sale equipment and educational and medical products are all to be found for the PCM-4896, a single-board embedded computer that's the size of a 5.25" floppy disk. The board carries a VGA/LCD SVGA controller, 100Base-TX Ethernet interface, an integrated Sound Blaster-compatible audio controller, and a socket for DiskOnChip flash. It also comes with the latest Cyrix Cx5530 chipset, as well as four COM ports.Other I/O facilities include one multimode parallel port, a floppy drive controller, an Ultra DMA/33 enhanced IDE controller, and a PS/2 keyboard and mouse interface.
