Embarking as the first single-chip stereo audio processor with Bluetooth functionality, MusiCore1 packs stereo audio and full-feature Bluetooth on a single chip that promises to save 75% of the cost of an audio processor and over 36 mm x 3 mm of board space, and enable 100 hours of music playback. The device supports all mainstream music file formats including MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, and SBC and its DSP architecture reduces power consumption during audio processing, i.e., 5.25 mW for an MP3 file. Based on the company's Kalimba 64-MIPS DSP, it specifies a SNR of 95 dB and proprietary noise-reduction technology provides 30 dB of dynamic background noise reduction. The Bluetooth element includes support for v2.1 + EDR Bluetooth and the company’s FastStream low-latency (40 ms) technology that promises to eliminate lip synch and time-delay issues.
