The CeraDiode CDA6 diode array provides ESD protection to Level 4 of IEC 61000-4-2 for two USB 2.0 ports and the two or four data lines. It also shields the supply voltage against over voltages. Unlike conventional TVS diodes, the protection is effective against both positive and negative voltages. Available in a 1012 package, the pad configuration of the device allows for the replacement of SOT23-6L diode packages with no redesign of the circuit board. Operating voltage ranges up to 5.6 Vdc, and response time is less than 0.5 ns. Other features include a parasitic capacitance of 5 pF typical. EPCOS INC., Iselin, NJ. (800) 888-7728.
