Targeting applications requiring multiple capacitors, the capacitance range for the 0508 two-capacitor array has been expanded up to 1 µF. Called the W2A2xD Series, the array package reduces board space by placing two components in the same board space normally occupied by one standard 0805 capacitor, said to reduce pick-and-place time by 50% compared to discrete capacitors. The arrays come in NP0 and X7R dielectrics, capacitance values range from 10 pF to 470 pF (NP0) and 470 pF to 0.10 µF (X7R), and with extended range options available in the X5R dielectric from 0.1 to 1 µF. Standard capacitance tolerances are ±10% (NP0) and ±20% (X7R), with voltage ratings of 6.3V, 10V, 16V, 25V, 50V and 100V. Available in tape-and-reel with package options of 1,000, 2,000, 4,000 or 10,000, price ranges from $0.12 to $0.22 each, depending on quantity. AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 448-9411.
