An open-frame, 19-pin SIP housing enables the PT3320 Series of 30W dc-to-dc converters to be mounted either vertically or horizontally. When mounted vertically, the unit is said to occupy less than 50% of the board space taken up by standard quarter-brick converters. The converter's 1500 vdc isolation, 85% efficiency and input voltage range of 36 to 75 vdc make it a prime candidate for many 48V distributed power applications. It's also available in a low-profile SMT package. User-friendly features include an inhibit function and differential remote sense that automatically compensates for any voltage drop from the converter to the load. There's also current limiting and short-circuit and over-temperature protection. Output voltages range from 2V to 15V, with the nominal output voltage adjustable from 90% to 110% with one external resistor. The device meets or exceeds UL1950 and EN60950 specs.
