Reinforcing deployment of the Airborne 802.11b wireless LAN node module, the company's evaluation/development kit initially provides a development board with the module, which integrates a radio, base-band processor, application processor, and software. Additionally, the kit comes with a full suite of development tools and utilities. The Airborne Evaluation Utility interfaces any device with an RS-232 port to the module, establishing an 802.11 connection, while the OEM Configuration Tool ensures the module's configuration meets design and application requirements. On the programming side, a dynamic-link library creates a Windows-based, application-programming interface, callable from any C, C++ , or Visual Basic application. Lastly, the Virtual Serial Port Driver performs the conversion from wired-to-wireless connectivity for users with applications previously written for devices linked to a standard serial port.
