Weaponry aboard the nation's submarine fleet is more reliable than ever. Radstone Technology and Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems have teamed up to improve the MK48 Advanced Capability (ADCAP) torpedo upgrade program. Specifically, Raytheon will use Radstone's G4DSP and PowerPC processors to improve the weapon's guidance, control, speed, and memory while significantly reducing radiated noise.

The MK48 ADCAP is the U.S. Navy's premier heavyweight submarine-launched torpedo. Industry experts call it the world's most capable anti-submarine weapon. This wire-guided thermal torpedo is launched through the full submarine's depth and speed profile. The ADCAP program is a joint development effort between the Naval Undersea Warfare Center and Raytheon Defense Systems.
