Designed for rugged, industrial applications, the EBC-855-G-1.8-1 EBX-compatible, single-board computer supports a 1.8-GHz Pentium M processor and operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C. The RoHS-compliant SBC employs an 855GME chipset with an integrated ICH communications controller and an Extreme Graphics 2 3D video controller. It supports up to 1 GB of PC2700 SDRAM, up to 8 GB of compact flash memory, plus floppy and hard disk drives. I/O interfaces include a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port with remote boot capability, VGA and dual-channel LVDS flat panel video, a miniPCI connector for an 802.11 wireless networking module, four USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports, AC'97 audio (5.1 codec), parallel port, and a PS/2 port. A software-programmable, 48-line digital I/O controller provides input, output, or output with read back for each I/O line. Further I/O expansion is possible via on-board PC/104 and PC/104+ connectors. Operating system support includes Windows XP embedded, Linux, QNX, and VxWorks. In addition, the SBC comes with software development tools that include device drivers and libraries. The board measures 146 mm x 203 mm, operates on +5V, and typically draws 2.1A with 1 GB of DDR SDRAM installed. Single-unit price is $895. WINSYSTEMS INC., Arlington, TX. (817) 274-7553.
