Bus Analyzer Debugs, Tests And Validates PCI-X Boards

July 1, 2000

Designed for debugging, testing and validation of next-generation PCI-X boards and systems, the PBT-615 is a complete logic analyzer and exerciser for the PCI-X and PCI buses. A single-slot short card, the analyzer is able to capture and display all bus activity in PCI-X/PCI bus motherboards with trigger and store qualifiers. It offers extensive statistics functions to measure system performance. The built-in exerciser unit may act as a PCI-X master or target controlled through the user interface or with a script, for stimulating bus traffic and emulating devices that are not yet available. The board's sampling speed is up to 100 MHz, upgradeable to 133 MHz. As an option, it can be equipped with a 500 MHz timing analyzer with 16 Msamples trace buffer. The PBT-615 supports PCI up to 66.7 MHz and comes in versions that support both 5V and 3.3V signaling. The board is operated through the USB or RS-232 port from a PC with Windows. It is priced from $7,950 and will be available in 3Q 2000.
