A pulse transformer is available to enable the firm’s second-generation dc-to-dc converters to current share when they are widely separated or operated from independent sources. Because the current sharing signal is an ac signal, it can be transformer-coupled. Doing so provides high levels of noise immunity while maintaining SELV isolation from the dc source. This is especially useful when board-to-board load sharing is required in redundant applications. The PR pin is a bidirectional port on each module used to transmit and receive information between modules. Each module has the ability to assume control of the array. The second-generation converters include 48V and 300V input families.
