Compact RISC-Based SBC Runs Windows CE Operating System

Sept. 1, 1999

Well-suited for handheld and touch-screen applications, the Graphics Client is a StrongARM RISC-based, single-board computer running the Windows CE operating system. And at 4" x 6", it’s claimed as the smallest SBC to offer powerful RISC performance features along with sophisticated graphics capabilities and the Windows CE operating environment. Other key features include a StrongARM SA-1100 microprocessor, support for three major development environments; video support up to XGA; Ethernet; USB, PCMCIA and IrDA communications protocols; and three serial ports. Because of its RISC environment and streamlined engineering platform, the board produces minimal heat output and has a power requirement of less than 3W.
