The PEC11 12-mm incremental encoder is a low-cost alternative to optical-type encoders in applications where extended life and a processing seal aren't required. This precision contacting-type encoder comes in a compact, square package. Constructed with a metal shaft and metal brushing, the PEC11 suits applications where high reliability and a rugged design are essential. It's available with a choice of 12, 18, or 24 pulses/revolution. Additional options include detents and a momentary push switch. Available shaft lengths include 15, 20, 25, and 30 mm. The PEC11 suits a variety of audio applications, including mixing consoles, outboard equipment, and amplifiers. Automotive applications include climate controls, sound systems, and navigation systems. The PEC11 can also operate in industrial equipment controls, test and measurement equipment, medical equipment, consumer electronic appliances, and communications equipment. Available now, the PEC11-xxxxF-Sxxxx (switch version) and PEC11-xxxxF-Nxxxx (no switch) cost $0.68 and $0.67, respectively. Pricing is based on 500-piece quantities.
