In response to emerging naval requirements, the ICS-1620 and ICS-1640 d/a converter boards address sonar applications by providing a high dynamic range for detecting smaller targets at longer distances, board-to-board synchronization to support high channel count systems, and a short form PCI Express form factor to enable compact, light-weight systems. The ICS-1620 features a 16-bit resolution while the ICS-1640 offers a 24-bit resolution and both operate at 2.5 MHz. The boards work together in systems requiring both receive and transmit elements and feature dynamic ranges of 16-bit/85-dB for the ICS-1620 and 24-bit/greater than 100-dB for the ICS-1640 and flexible clocking schemes that allow for programmability over the entire available sampling range with a resolution of 1 Hz. The clocks can lock to an on-board 10-MHz TCXO or to an external reference clock such a GPS receiver. For more details, call GE FANUC INTELLIGENT PLATFORMS, Charlottesville, VA. (434) 978-5000.
