With their wide input range of 4 to 8 vdc, the OR50 Series of dc-to-dc converters is intended for local step-up supply rail generation within pcb assemblies. The converters' full output regulation, together with internal decoupling, makes them a single-component subsystem that requires no additional components for operation. The switched-mode circuitry uses pulse-width modulation to minimize the presence of any sub-harmonics. In addition, their high switching frequency of 1 MHz enables a small TO-220 size that minimizes board real estate requirements. Output is at 12 vdc at up to 50 mA. Regulation is safely maintained even at zero load current.
