Half-Brick Dc-Dc Modules Are Up To 92% Efficient

Dec. 1, 1999
The PKJ family of half-brick dc-dc converters has been extended with nine new models offering 15A, 20A and 30A ratings in both 2.5V and 5V versions, and 75W, 100W and 150W at 12V. Full power is guaranteed at case temperatures up to 100°C. No heat

The PKJ family of half-brick dc-dc converters has been extended with nine new models offering 15A, 20A and 30A ratings in both 2.5V and 5V versions, and 75W, 100W and 150W at 12V. Full power is guaranteed at case temperatures up to 100°C. No heat sink is required, thanks to the converters’ high efficiency (92% at 12V/12.5A and 87% at 2.5V/30A), but an optional heat sink is available to provide flexibility in meeting low-airflow, high ambient-temperature or extended reliability needs.Proprietary control circuits, planar magnetics and a patent-pending synchronous rectification topology are combined with a low-resistivity, multilayer pc board to produce full power across the wide ETSI input-voltage range of 36V to 72V. Units meet applicable international safety standards.
