Four-Terminal, Current-Sense Resistor Features Values As Low As 0.003 ohms

Sept. 1, 1998

Combining the low cost of flip-chip construction techniques with a four-terminal "Kelvin" design, the LRK Series of ultra-low resistance thick-film resistors achieve values as low as 0.003 ohms. They're primarily for current-sensing circuits in portable electronics such as laptop PCs. The devices are terminated on one side only for face-down mounting on the pc board. The LRK2512 features resistance values as low as 0.003 ohms to 1.0 ohm, in tolerances to 1% and TCRs of ±100 ppm/°C or less.
