The company has introduced two new entry-level development tools, the Signal-Analysis PICtail Daughter Board and the Baseline Flash-Microcontroller Programmer (BFMP). The daughter board (see photo) allows users to analyze analog signals processed by the company’s low-pin-count PIC 8-bit MCUs. It employs a graphical user interface that provides a toolbox for learning and evaluating the MCUs without test equipment or tools. The BFMP is a simple In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP) programmer intended for use with any of the company’s new baseline Flash PIC 8-bit microcontrollers. When paired with the PIC10F2XX programmer adapter, the programmer supports stand-alone programming of the PIC10F 6-pin MCU family. Single-unit price for either the daughter board or programmer is $25. MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC., Chandler, AZ. (888) 628-6247.
