The Athena HRC104 PC/104 single-board computer (SBC) from Diamond Systems couples a low-power, 660-MHz Via Eden x86-compatible processor with a data-acquisition controller that sports a 16-channel, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter and four-channel, 12-bit digital-to-analog converter. It also handles 24 digital connections, 10/100BaseT Ethernet, integrated development environment, floppy, four serial and two USB ports, PS/2 keyboard and mouse, plus an IrDA connection. A single ribbon cable can link the board to Diamond panel connector boards. Pricing starts at $775 with a 400-MHz processor and 128 Mbytes of RAM.
